We head towards our first travel destination by visiting the most iconic metropolis in the world, it’s technologies have shaped the way we all live and operate. This place is home to the worlds most used products, such as cars, tv’s, smartphones, manufactured by the worlds most prestigious brands such as, Samsung, Kia, LG, Hyundai and a lot more. Seoul is a bustling city that not only holds a strong presence in Asia but also in the rest of the world. To date, this influence is largely due to Seoul’s cutting-edge technology, a strong economy, and vibrant culture. Here are the top places that we visited while we were in seoul.

Dongdaemun Market & Eating A Live Squid :

Located in the heart of Seoul, South Korea, Dongdaemun Market is a bustling shopping district that captures the essence of the city’s vibrant fashion and shopping scene. With its array of shops, markets, and malls, Dongdaemun Market has become a mecca for fashion enthusiasts, bargain hunters, and those seeking a taste of Korean street culture. It is a paradise for shopaholics, offering a wide range of shopping options to suit every taste and budget. From small boutiques to sprawling shopping complexes, the market is home to thousands of shops selling everything from trendy clothing, shoes, and accessories to fabrics, crafts, and electronics. Whether you’re in search of the latest fashion trends or unique Korean souvenirs, Dongdaemun Market has it all. 
When it comes to culinary adventures, few experiences are as intriguing and unconventional as eating a live squid. This daring practice, predominantly found in certain regions of East Asia, offers a thrilling gastronomic experience that pushes the boundaries of culinary exploration. This has deep cultural roots in countries such as South Korea and Japan. 
In these regions, it is considered a traditional delicacy that dates back to centuries. The practice has been passed down through generations, and for many locals, it holds cultural significance and represents a connection to their culinary heritage. The freshness of the squid, combined with its unique texture and the subtle flavors of the sea, can create a memorable and intense culinary encounter. The taste was delicate and slightly sweet, while the texture can range from soft and tender to slightly chewy.

The highlight of Bukchon Hanok Village is its collection of well-preserved traditional hanok houses. These wooden houses with their gracefully curved roofs and intricate architectural details exude a sense of elegance and simplicity. Many of these hanoks have been converted into cultural centers, guesthouses, museums, and artisan workshops, offering visitors a chance to explore and experience traditional Korean crafts, music, and lifestyle.
The Village offers stunning panoramic views of Seoul’s modern skyline and historic landmarks. As you wander through its hilly terrain, you’ll encounter vantage points that provide breathtaking vistas of the city, framed by the traditional hanok houses. These picturesque views make Bukchon Hanok Village a favorite spot for photographers and Instagram enthusiasts, offering countless opportunities for capturing the perfect snapshot of Seoul’s harmonious blend of old and new.

The Michelin guide restaurant :

The Michelin Guide is widely regarded as the ultimate authority in the culinary world, bestowing prestigious stars upon restaurants that showcase exceptional culinary craftsmanship. For food enthusiasts and connoisseurs, dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant is a truly remarkable experience. The restaurant covers a wide range of cuisines, ensuring that there is something to suit every palate. From French haute cuisine to Japanese sushi, from Italian trattorias to avant-garde fusion, the guide celebrates culinary diversity and excellence worldwide. Whether you prefer classic dishes prepared with a modern twist or innovative creations that push the boundaries of gastronomy, the Michelin Guide offers an array of options to satisfy your culinary desires. Upon entering, we wanted to try something local, so the waiter suggested we start with the savory Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup. This traditional dish, also known as Samgyetang, combines tender chicken, aromatic ginseng, and a medley of wholesome ingredients to create a hearty and rejuvenating soup. The soup was not only a delicious meal but also a nourishing elixir for the body. Ginseng, a prized medicinal herb in Korean culture, is believed to have various health benefits. 
It is said to boost immunity, improve circulation, enhance cognitive function, and provide an overall sense of well-being. Combined with the nourishing properties of chicken and a variety of other ingredients, this soup is considered a fortifying dish that promotes health and vitality. After the soup, we ordered a delicious fried chicken which was considered as a star dish at the restaurant. Its crispy perfection, succulent meat, and tantalizing flavors, held a special place in our hearts.

Lotte Department store :

Lotte Department Store is a renowned retail destination that has been a staple in the Korean shopping scene for decades. With its luxurious ambiance, wide range of high-quality products, and exceptional customer service, Lotte Department Store offers an unforgettable shopping experience. The store exudes an air of luxury and elegance, making it a favorite among fashion enthusiasts and discerning shoppers. The store’s refined interior design, complete with polished marble floors, stylish displays, and upscale boutiques, creates a sophisticated atmosphere that sets it apart. From designer fashion brands to high-end cosmetics and accessories, Lotte Department Store curates an exclusive collection of products that cater to the most refined tastes. One of the strengths of the Store is its extensive range of shopping sections, each catering to different interests and needs. From fashion and beauty to home furnishings and gourmet food, the store offers a comprehensive selection that covers all aspects of modern living. Shoppers can easily navigate through floors dedicated to women’s, men’s, and children’s fashion, explore beauty halls filled with renowned cosmetic brands, and discover lifestyle and home sections that showcase exquisite home decor and furnishings.

From Korean favorites like tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), hotteok (sweet pancakes), and gimbap (seaweed rice rolls) to international treats like takoyaki (octopus balls) and crepes, there’s something to satisfy every craving. Exploring the diverse street food options in Myeongdong is a culinary adventure that shouldn’t be missed. Myeongdong is not only about shopping and food; it’s also a hub for cultural festivities and performances. 
Throughout the year, the streets come alive with vibrant performances, street musicians, and dance troupes showcasing their talents. Traditional cultural events, such as traditional music performances and hanbok fashion shows, offer glimpses into Korean heritage and add an extra layer of cultural richness to the vibrant atmosphere of Myeongdong.
